This fast paced thriller exceeded my high expectations. Lilian Amah's eloquent accounts of the main characters are skilfully interwoven, providing an interesting contrast between their perspectives and how the Civil war has impacted so drastically on their lives.

The novel has a nice mix of romance, drama, suspense... The lesson that life is challenging, but worth putting your best into it as you hope for the best (no matter the tragedies) is underscored herein. I couldn't put it down till I finished reading it.
